I once had a conversation with God that involved food (FYI: many of our conversations revolve around food 🤷🏻♀️).
I was watching a show and there was this scene where a couple of wealthy people were eating what looked like really yummy food.
I said to God, “I bet wealthy people eat something different every day. I think they even eat food I’ve never even heard of. I wonder what it’s like to eat like a wealthy person?”
That was on a Sunday.
The next day Dad came home with free food from work. He came home with something different, every day for weeks. (There’s more to this story but I’ll keep it short for now).
Food I didn’t even know was a thing . . . like Shrimp Subs (not my favorite but thankful for the experience nonetheless, thanks God!)
Last Thursday I started feeling sad because Dad was no longer with us and I found myself thinking about this story I just shared.
I talked to God, “I really miss Dad. I remember how happy he looked when he came home with some food for us to try. I’m really going to miss trying new foods I didn’t even know were a thing.”
The next day we got the cake I shared about in the previous post.
It wasn’t a few hours after I posted that story on IG that it clicked. God answered my request the very next day.
The cake is called Sachertorte. It’s got this jam inside that gives it an . . . interesting taste 😂. It was ordered by someone from church who I barely know. It was delivered right to my door. It was something I didn’t even know was a thing.
Well played, God. I see You. Thank you 🥰 P.S. I still miss Dad 💔 but the cake did help ease my soul and confirm, once again, that everything will be alright because You’re still taking very good care of us. 💕
