Something interesting happened as I was writing the copy for the first post of this series.
I had been wanting to write a new post for days, but the inspiration wasn’t quite there yet. That day I woke up early and decided that day was the day I would post what had been on my heart lately. I was thinking about how to word the intention I wanted to share. When what I wrote felt complete to me, I saved the note and planned on publishing it in the afternoon.
If you know me, you know that I’m not a morning person. I gave myself permission to sleep a little longer. Just as I was about to close my eyes, I had a thought, “Put some piano music on to help you sleep a little longer.” I do this from time to time to help my mind stop the overthinking.
I opened my “Peaceful Piano” playlist on Spotify and the first song that played was titled “Forgiveness.”
Why was this significant? This particular week I had been struggling with a mistake I made. I had corrected my mistake, I took responsibility for my actions, but I was still struggling to forgive myself. I tend to do that, it’s something I’ve been working on, and God wanted to help.
By writing out an example of how to set an intention, I set it for myself as well because I had not formed any resistance to the words I shared. The answer came very quickly too.
It was an answer I needed to hear. It was only one word, but I knew and understood what it meant. God had forgiven me, but He knew I needed His permission to forgive myself because I wasn’t giving it to myself.
It was the NEXT right step I needed to take to continue my journey and it brought me to tears to see how quickly God was willing and able to help.
There’s lots of lessons here.
The main takeaway is that answers can come very, very quickly and in a loving manner that will touch the very core of your being.
There is some work that you will be required to do so that you can get to this place, but it doesn’t have to take a long time and it gets to be fun!
